Large Collection of Bookplates – Ex Libris. Noted Personalities and Institutions
Collection of 267 Jewish bookplates from noted personalities and institutions, from Eretz Israel, Israel, Europe and America, mainly from the first half of the 20th century. Over 200 personal ex libris, including famous Jews such as Elkan Nathan Adler, Haim Arlosoroff, Yitzhak Ben-Zvi, Shneor Cheshin, Echad Ha'am, Yitzchak Ganuz, Leah Goldberg, Ephraim Moshe Lilien, Franz Oppenheimer and others. Artists whose designs are represented here include Berlewi, Lilien, Raban, Struck, Szyk and more. Several of the designs are original etchings and prints. In addition, over fifty ex libris from leading Jewish universities, libraries, institutions and organizations worldwide. Many of the ex libris in this collection appear in the catalogs "Jewish Book-Plates (Ex-Libris)" by A.M. Haberman and "Exhibition of Jewish Book Plates" by the Graphic Archives and Museum.
Varying conditions (most are in Fine to Very Good condition). Various sizes. Contained within an album, 34x18cm. No doubles.
