Silver medal in honor of Gustav II Adolf, King of Sweden [1594-1632]. 1632. 42 mm. diameter. 18 grams. Impressive bust of the king and text with honorifics. The reverse features the royal coat of arms, sword, a branch and feather and rustic scenery. With the Tetragrammaton and Latin text. King Gustav II had a significant role in the Thirty Year War and was known as the "Lion of the North" and the "Golden King". He was killed during the Battle of Lutzen. The medal was issued during the year of his death. Original, uniform patina. VF+.
