Gold Coin. Denmark, 1648
Gold ducat from the era of Christian IV, King of Denmark, 1648. 22 mm. diameter. 3.4 grams. The face of the coin features the name and bust of the king and the reverse features the punctuated Tetragrammaton, with text (Latin?). The reign of Christian IV (1588-1648) was one of the finest eras in Denmark's history. The coin was issued shortly before his death. The shape has slightly changed over time. Almost VF.
