"Mishbirei Yam." Harbin, [China], 1926. Only edition
Responsa on the four sections of the Shulchan Aruch and explanations of the halacha by Rabbi Aharon Moshe Kisiliv [av"d Borisov-Minsk]. Harbin, 1926. At the press of M. Levitan. Hebrew and Russian title page.
A small Jewish community existed in Harbin, China, established after the First World War by Russian refugees. The rabbi of the community was Rabbi Aharon Moshe Kisilov (1866-1949), a Lubavitch chassid and disciple of the Gadol of Minsk and Rabbi Chaim Soloveitchik. He arrived in the city in 1913 after serving many years in the Borisov rabbinate, near Minsk. In 1937, he was unanimously elected Chief Rabbi of the communites in the Far East. When the city was captured by the Chinese forces and the communist rule took hold of China, the community disappeared.
During its 40 years of existence, only 5 Hebrew books were printed there.
