Passport issued by "Gebiet des Oberbefehlshabers Ost", November, 1917 with the ink mark "Verwaltungsgebiet Litauen - administration in Lithuania.
The passport was issued by the German government in the areas that it temporarily captured during the First World War. Clauses with Yiddish and parallel German. Includes a clause warning fifteen years imprisonment to a person found without a passport or with a forged passport. It also warns of punishment for people who do not inform the authorities about a lost passport within 24 hours. The passport bears the picture of its female owner and her fingerprint.
