Letter from the Admo"r the Divrei Shmuel of Slonim - Condemnimg Controversy and Jealousy, and Praising Love of Friends which is the "Spring of Salvation for livelihood, Wealth, Success and all Goodness." - 1890 - Not Printed
Handwritten letter from the Admo"r Rabbi Shmuel Weinberg of Slonim, author of Divrei Shmuel. Sent to "honored businessmen who want to be both wealthy community leaders and also Chassidim, " R' Yechezkel, R' Moshe and R' Reuven. 1890 [שנת "חיים ועושר"].
This letter was sent to one of the Slonim Chassidim's shteiblach in Lithuania after an argument broke out and there were discussions of disputes and separation. The Divrei Shmuel writes to them with words of rebuke and mussar, in clear language based on the words of verses and sayings by Chaza"l, with subtle and sharp humor (All his hints and barbs are not completely understood).
The Admo"r writes in his letter: "The basis and source for the spring of livelihood and wealth and success in all material matters, " and Shabbat, festivals of Torah and prayer and all spiritual matters - is love of friends." At the end of the letter, the Admo"r writes: "Improve your deeds, broken love is irreparable. Love one another, forgo for one another, look upon each other with a favorable eye, pray and request mercy for each other, and I hope that Hashem's Chassidim will be raised upwards with expansiveness and wealth, and you will truly be big businessmen and honored by G-d and man ..."
