Most of this work deals with astronomy, determining moladot and the rules of the Hebrew calendar. The composition is divided into several she'arim, including "14 Tables, " "Pillars of the Tekufot, " "Actions of the Seven Planets, " "Introduction" and "Legends." Some of the manuscript also discusses astrology and predicting the future. For example: Tables: "Signs of cold and hot ... to know which months will be cold or hot."
As stated, this manuscript contains neither a title page nor a colophon, and its author and the year it was written are unknown. However, one of the pages states: "I copied this from a very old calendar in 1879 - Baruch Moshe Hochmahn." Another page notes the year 1876, and another: "Yuda[/Yosef] Wilner."
