Kehillot Moshe - Mikra'ot Gedolot - Torah Nevi'im and Ketuvim, with all the commentaries. Amsterdam, 1724-1728, by the dayan Rabbi Moshe Frankfurt. Magnificent complete set. Four parts in four volumes in an especially large format. Magnificent bibliophilic edition in an especially large format.
Complete beautiful set of a historic edition of Mikra'ot Gedolot on the entire Tana"ch.
Magnificent and especially important bibliophilic edition. Printing this work took about four years. The editor wrote: "I had some signatures from special individuals, Sephardic and Ashkenazic, who took several leaves from me each week." This is the complete edition with all the words of introduction, poems, words by the editors and all the supplements.
This edition was edited and printed by the dayan Rabbi Moshe Frankfurt, who authored and printed many books, including Nefesh Yehudah on Menorat HaMe'or and re-edited Be'er HaGolah on Shulchan Aruch. The rabbinic editor also wrote a foreword to each section, as well as writing concluding words for some sections. Commentaries were added according to the Mikra'ot Gedolot of the early Venice presses, with many supplements, some of which were printed here for the first time.
Especially proofread Mesorah Gedolah printed at the end of this set as well as certain alternatives [מערבאי / ומדנחאי and בני אשר / בני נפתלי].
As befits the importance of this edition, it was designed with rare splendor. The volumes are about half a meter high and are close to ten cm thick (!) They were printed on thick, high-quality paper, with extra-wide margins. The books are bound in light-colored leather and adorned with gold imprints.
