Midrash Aggadat Bereishit. The Printers, in their Insolence, Omitted the Vilna Gaon's Name, and that of his Son Rabbi Avraham

Midrash Aggadat Bereishit with a foreword by Rabbi Avraham ben HaGr"a, however the printers, for unclear reasons, chose to omit the name of Rabbi Avraham ben HaGr"a, as well as the Vilna Gaon's name?! Zolkiew, 1804.

Rabbi Avraham, son of the Gr"a, edited the book Midrash Aggadat Bereishit and wrote a lengthy foreword for it, as well as a brief elucidation, and printed the book in Vilna in 1802.

Printing this book took about two years, in Zolkiew, but the printers omitted Rabbi Avraham ben HaGr"a's name. The printers did include the entire foreword, but in their impudence, omitted the signature at the end. Not only that, in the middle of the foreword, when Rabbi Avraham wrote "I heard from my father, the Gaon" - the printers again removed the Vilna Gaon's name, writing only "I heard."
