Beit Yisrael - first edition of novellae on the Talmud (!) by one of the leading Admo"rim of all generations, Rabbi Yisrael Hopstein, disciple of 'the maggid of Mezeritch' and the 'Noam Elimelech, ' and teacher of the 'Yehudi HaKadosh' of Peshischa, the 'Me'or VaShemesh' and the 'Sar Shalom' of Belz, known as "the maggid of Kozhnitz" [in Yiddish: Der Kozhnitzer maggid].


This work was originally printed in 1865. In 1876, Part II was printed with a new title page and additional approbations. After the second part was printed, the printers printed what was left from Part I together with Part II. This volume includes both parts, with both title pages.


Part I includes novellae on Tractates Berachot, Eruvin, Shabbat and Sukkah. 

Part II includes novellae on Tractates Ketubot, Kiddushin and Nedarim.
