Lot of Mezhibuzh Pins. 1991. Rare Only Edition
In 1991, before the collapse of the Communist regime that led to the disintegration of the USSR into several independent states, a group of (apparently) non-Jews in Mezhibuzh, Ukraine, produced circular aluminum lapel pins.
It appears that after the construction of the famous ohel that same year over the Ba'al Shem Tov's grave, and also a small hotel, those non-Jews saw the latent potential in the Jewish pilgrimage to tzaddikims' graves and they produced pins for:
The past image of the Ba'al Shem Tov's grave
The present image of the Ba'al Shem Tov's grave
The Ba'al Shem Tov's synagogue
The Medzhybizh Fortress
We are not aware of any other production of these pins, hence their extreme rarity.
[4] pins. Diameter: 5.5 cm. On the back is a pin for imprinting the price in the Ukrainian currency of the time.
