Letter by Rebbe Avraham Shalom Halberstam of Stropkov to Rabbi Y. Horowitz of Mainz.
As a postcard from [1929]. Entirely handwritten, with his signature and seal.
[1]Postcard. 9.5*14.5 cm. At the end of the letter he asks Rabbi Horowitz to send his best regards "to the gaon and chassid, the father of the Rav, Shlit"a."
The Admor and tzaddik Rabbi Avraham Shalom Halberstam of Stropkov, the son of the holy Rabbi Yechezkel Shraga of Shinov, the son of Rabbi Chaim of Sanz, was born in 1856. His father spoke at length about the holiness of his soul, which he had drawn down from a high place, and he predicted that his son would have an unusual power for doing great things—salvation would continue to come through him, especially for the childless. From the year 1898 he served as the Admor and Rav in Stropkov until his death in 1940. (Sources: Encyclopedia of Chachmei Galicia Volume 2, pp. 409)
