The Rebbe's Warning Regarding a Potent ‘Unknown Injection' and Blessing for Recovery and Good News for the Whole Family
Letter of blessing and warning 'regarding a potent, unknown injection' from the Admo"r, Rabbi Menachem Mendel Schneerson of Lubavitch, to Rabbi Yosef. Brooklyn, 2 Nissan 1952.
The letter was written in response to a question about a new medication just invented (to treat paralysis) - whether it is worthwhile to take. The Rebbe, in his response, (which is relevant to our times, as well) wrote, inter alia, that due to the fact that the medication has not been examined and gone through the appropriate testing, and that these are potent injections that could cause damage, the Rebbe's opinion is that they should be avoided.
The Rebbe concludes his letter with wondrous blessings: "May Hashem send you a recovery in a different way, and may you soon be able to share good news with me regarding this. With blessings for a truly happy and kosher Passover, for [you] and for [your] entire family, may they be well, especially [your] grandson, Zohar, and his parents, may they be well. M. Schneerson."
