Letter from Rabbi Yisrael Nissan Kuperstock, av"d Makava, author of "Shu"t Ani Ben Pachma"
Letter from Rabbi Yisrael Nissan Kuperstock, author of Shu"t Ani Ben Pachma, to Rabbi Yosef צינאוויעצקי, rabbi in Lomza, Poland. Jerusalem, [1927].
[1] leaf, written in 4 columns. 27x21 cm. All in his hand and with his signature and stamp.
Very lengthy letter regarding a financial disagreement.
Rabbi Yisrael Nissan Kuperstock was born in 1857 to a family of Chassidim of Rabbi Menachem Mendel of Kotzk. He studied under the Gaon of Kutna, author of Yeshuot Malko. He was rabbi in a number of cities in Poland, primarily in Makó, where he served for twenty years until he moved to Palestine in 1924. He corresponded with the leading Torah authorities of his time: the authors of Torat Chessed, Darchei Teshuvah, Avnei Nezer, Chelkat Yoav, the "Yismach Yisrael" of Alexander and many more. He was noted in the Torah world for his responsa, Ani Ben Pachma.
