Four Books Bound Together. Important Dedications


* Ahavat Mussar by the gaon Rabbi Moshe Levinson, rabbi of Aran, a suburb of Vilna. Warsaw, 1897.

This book is adorned with two important dedications, the first at the top of the title page: "Gift from the author to the rabbi, the gaon ..." The second dedication, on the back of the title page, is from the gaon Rabbi Yonah Ze'ev Hershler (grandfather of the gaon Rabbi Meir Tzvi Bergman). Lengthy dedication to the bar mitzvah boy, later known as the gaon Rabbi Nissan Tukachinsky, son of the gaon Rabbi Yechiel Michel Tukachinsky.

At the top of the title page is a slightly cropped "kvittel" that mentions the author and his descendants by name: "May they be geonim and tzaddikim, occupied with the written and the oral Torah.
