Rabbi Yisrael Dov (Ber) Odesser [1886-1996] "The Sabba" was born in Safed to a family of Karlin Chassidim. He was a disciple of Rabbi Yisrael Kardonner and additional rabbis from among the Breslov elders. He became famous towards the end of his life following a mysterious letter on a note inscribed "נ נח נחמ נחמן מאומן." As a result, he is referred to as "Ba'al HaPetek" by his followers.
