Printed Leaf - Picture of Hundreds of Students of the Meah She'arim Talmud Torah and Yeshivah, with a Recommendation from the Chafetz Chaim and Others. Jerusalem, C. 1927.

Large leaf printed on both sides - picture of hundreds of students at the Meah She'arim Talmud Torah and yeshivah, with a picture of Rabbi Shaul Chaim HaLevi Horowitz - the Nadvorna Rebbe, founder of the yeshivah; Rabbi Yosef Gershon Horowitz, the rosh yeshivah; Rabbi Yitzchak Ya'akov Wachtfogel, and others. The picture was originally taken by the famous Jerusalem photographer, Zadok Bassan, and it was artistically assembled from several photographs. The original photograph was done before 1916, as Rabbi Horowitz is mentioned with a reference to his being alive, and he passed away in 1916.

On the reverse are recommendations from rabbinic leaders calling for economic support of the enterprise, including from Rabbi Moshe Yehudah Leib Diskin - the Mahari"l Diskin, Rabbi Chaim Chizkiyahu Medini, the Chafetz Chaim, Chief Rabbi Avraham Yitzchak HaKohen Kook, the Chacham Bashi - Rabbi Chaim Nachum, and Rabbi Moshe Zevulun Margaliot. The final recommendation is dated 1927. At that same time, a similar leaf was printed without the rabbis' recommendations. A letter from the rashei yeshivah was printed in their place.
