Yemenite Manuscript with Tiklal, Contract Forms and More. Yemen, 16th -17th centuries.

Yemenite Manuscript (incomplete) with prayers for the entire year, contract forms, ketubot, gittin, etc. Mostly with upper vowelization. Individual leaves in the beginning and the middle were completed in later writing, and many pages in the second half of the manuscript were lost. With a few comments in the margins by the copyist and later owners.

Specifications: 106 leaves, paper. 20X28 cm. Yemenite writing.

Unique features: Comment on page 46b in different handwriting, possibly of the copyist: "Behold the completion of the royal crown Wednesday the 30th of Tevet ... and my name is Salam son of Yehuda Alexmadi[?] [the signature is in Arabic in Arabic letters] blessed is He who granted me the writing of the royal crown to know the secret of the honorable Name ...."

On page 47a in the margins: "Vowelization of [a] scribe, from here on ... Saadia ibn Salam HaLevi."

On page 93a: 36 tekufot beginning in 1659, but the previous page is missing and it's possible this is not the beginning of the chart.

On page 97b, in the text of the get, it is written, "The year [1900] and so we have changed in the contract, " we know from here that the manuscript was written between the years 1590 and 1659.

On pages 102a - 106b: Book of Job 1:1 - 22:28. At the beginning, it says: "Vowelization of the scribe Saadia son of Rach[?..] Alchamadi."

Condition: Poor. pages 55-64, 72, 74, 78-81, 83, 88-89, 91-92, 94-96, 99-100 are lacking. Worming holes, stains, professional resoration of the leaves after wear of their perimeters. New leather binding.
