Likkutei Mohara"n - First, Rare Edition, Printed in the Author's Lifetime. Segulah for Wealth. Title page and final leaf completed by professional photocopy
"He (the person who possesses the book) will have great protection in all matters, and his wealth will be lasting" (Chayei Mohara"n, 355)
Likkutei Mohara"n - First edition of the fundamental and most renowned book by Rabbi Nachman of Breslov - foundational book of Breslov doctrine, and one of the most important and influential Chassidic books in the world. Ostroh, 1808. Segulah book for protection and wealth. Rare book, especially sought-after. The book is in rare condition with the exception of the title page and the final page, which have been completed by professional photocopy.
Before us is the only book by Rabbi Nachman of Breslov printed in his lifetime. The book was edited by Rabbi Nachman of Breslov's great disciple, none other than Rabbi Nathan of Nemirov (Moharana"t) and the editing was done with Rabbi Nachman's close instruction and with his guidance. He motivated Moharana"t with wondrous expressions about the book, which consisted, in his words, "the beginning of the redemption" ("אתחלתא דגאולה"). (Chayei Mohara"n, 346). Rabbi Nachman also foresaw regarding the book that the day would come when it would be much sought-after and printed in many editions (Chayei Mohara"n, 349). Indeed these words said when Breslov Chassidut was a small, persecuted group, seemed detached from reality, Heaven forbid. Yet they were completely fulfilled in our generation, when thousands and tens of thousands have drawn close to Breslov doctrine, tens of thousands travel annually to prostrate themselves at Rabbi Nachman's grave in Uman, Ukraine, for Rosh HaShanah, and Likkutei Mohara"n is printed in dozens of editions! Other giants of Chassidut have also written wondrous things about the book. They crowned the second edition of the book with their enthusiastic approbations. Among those who gave approbations: The Seer of Lublin (who wrote about him: "A sanctified person, wonder of the generation, light of the Jewish people); the maggid of Kozhnitz (who wrote: "Wonder of the generation, his name is great among rabbis") and more.
Rabbi Nachman of Breslov revealed and blessed owners of the book with protection and with wealth, and stated that possession of the book in one's home (even without studying it) comprises "great protection for the home and one's wealth and finances from all damage ... and he mentioned one wealthy person ... 'who has my book in his home; he will have great protection in all matters and his wealth will be lasting.'" (Chayei Mohara"n, 355).
