Shem Yisrael, novellae and elucidations on mishnayot Seder Zera'im by Rabbi Yisrael Isser [Isserlin]. Vilna, 1859. First edition. Copy that belonged to the tzaddik Rabbi Itze'leh Blazer, Av Beit Din of Peterburg, and most prominent disciple of the progenitor of the mussar movement, Rabbi Yisrael Salanter. Handwritten 15-word gloss on page 14.
The protective leaf bears the owner's stamp of Rabbi Itzeleh Blazer (Peterburger) in Hebrew and in Russian: "Yitzchak Blazer, former rabbi of Peterburg, " and the handwritten serial number of the book in his library: "576." It also has a handwritten owner's notation: "This book belongs to the rabbi and gaon R' Yitzchak Blazer, shlit"a, Av Beit Din of the Peterburg community, today, Sunday of the week the portion of Bereishit is read, 1877, Petersburg."
