Shu"t Divrei Pinchas. Only Compilation that was Printed; Its Sequel was Printed 50 Years Later. Especially Rare
Shu"t Divrei Pinchas by Rabbi Pinchas Segal of Grosswardein. Waitzen, 1912. One compilation was printed with important approbations, and then the printing ceased.
The author began printing the book in 1912, with the approbations of Rabbi Rephael Shapira, Rabbi Chaim of Brisk, Rabbi Shalom [the Maharsha"m] Schwadron and Rabbi Yitzchak Shmelkish. However, the printing ceased. The author's son Aharon Zimtbaum of New York printed the complete work approximately 50 years later.
The author Rabbi Pinchas Segal Zimtbaum was Ra"avad of Grosswardein, his son-in-law was Rabbi Yitzchak Ya'akov Weiss, later the Ga"avad of Jerusalem, who eventually joined his father-in-law's Beit Din. The author was killed during the Holocaust with his daughter, Rabbi Weiss' wife. Rabbi Yitzchak Ya'akov Weiss, in his book Minchat Yitzchak (part 2, section 133) brings a Torah thought from this author, and notes that all his father-in-law's novellae were lost in the Holocaust.
