Rabbi Shaul Brach (1865-1940), Av Beit Din of Kashi, was one of the greatest Rabbis of his generation, a disciple of the Maharam Schick and the Chatan Sofer. He served in the rabbinate of Magendorf since 1892. From 1911-1923 he served in the rabbinate of Krali, until he moved to the Kashoi Rabbinate, and was replaced by Rabbi Yoel of Satmar. During all his years of rabbinate, he headed a large yeshiva, and many of the Hungarian rabbis were among his disciples. He has written many books on all the subjects of the Torah, his history in Sefer Shaul, chosen by God.
