A letter of instruction from the genius Rabbi Yechiel Ya'akov Weinberg Ba'al HaSridei Esh . Monterey, 1957
מכתב הדרכה חשוב לנער בר מצווה ולאביו. כולו בכתב יד קדשו ובחתימתו של הגאון הנודע רבי יחיאל יעקב ויינברג ראש ישיבת מונטרי בשווייץ. מונטרי, תשי"ז [1957].
המכתב ממוען אל אחד מתלמידיו של ה'שרידי אש' הנושא בתואר "הרב דוקטור יעקב שטרן". בחלקו הראשן של המכתב מכביר הרב וינברג מברכותיו לרגל חגיגת הבר מצווה של בן הנמען. ולאורך כל חציו השני של המכתב מאריך בעל השרידי אש בפסוקים ודברי כיבושין לחתן בר המצוה ולאביו, אודות חשיבות התורה ולומדיה.
הגאון רבי יחיאל יעקב וינברג [תרמ"ד-תשכ"ו], גאון ופוסק נודע, מגדולי תלמידי "הסבא מסלבודקה". לפני השואה עמד בראש בית המדרש לרבנים בברלין. במהלך השואה גורש לפולין, שהה תקופה בגטו וורשא, שם כיהן כנשיא אגודת הרבנים. נשלח למחנה עבודה ושרד את השואה. לאחר השואה הגיע למונטריי שבשווייץ, שם עמד בראשות הישיבה עד פטירתו. כתביו ששרדו אחר השואה פורסמו בשם שרידי אש (שו"ת וחידושים) ועל שמם נתפרסם.
