הגאון הגדול רבי מיכל יהודה ליפקוביץ' (תרע"ד-תשע"א 1913-2011), ממנהיגי הציבור הליטאי, מתלמידיו הגדולים של מרן ה'חזון איש', שאף עמד מאחורי השידוך והחתונה שלו בשנת ת"ש, היה חבר מועצת גדולי התורה של דגל התורה, ראש ישיבת פוניבז' לצעירים במשך כששים שנה ברציפות, והעמיד אלפי תלמידים.
