Kehillos Yaakov on Maseches Zevachim by Rav Yaakov Yisrael Kanievsky - the Steipler.
- Inscribed by the author, the Steipler, on the flyleaf before the title page.
- Inscribed with brachos for a chassan and kallah: זיווגם יעלה יפה יפה ובכל אשר יפנו יצליחו לטובה ולברכה ויזכו לדור ישרים מבורך וכט"ס.
The Steipler (1899-1985) was renowned for his genius and righteousness. The brother-in-law of the Chazon Ish, he was a leader of the charedi community in the last generation. He lent great import to writing the chiddushei Torah printed in his Kehillos Yaakov and invested a lot of efforts to make sure they were precise. He was toivel in the mikvah before writing his chiddushim (
Orchos Rabbeinu, section 5, p. 235) and used a special pen for writing them (ibid, section 1, p 348).
