Letter from Rabbi Aharon Cohen, Rosh Yeshiva of the Chevron Yeshiva

A letter, written and signed by Rav Aharon Cohen, Rosh Yeshiva of the Chevron Yeshiva.

Rabbi Aharon Cohen (1904-1961) served as Rosh Yeshiva of the Chevron Yeshiva from 1934 He was the son-in-law of Rav Moshe Mordechai Epstein, Av Beis Din and Rosh Mesivta of Slabodka. One of the most respected and endeared personalities of the Chevron Yeshiva, Rav Cohen was a genius in Torah and extremely righteous, and his brother-in-law Rav Y. Sarna used to call him 'holy man'.

His disciple, Rav Y.M. Lefkowitz, writes of him that he was outstanding in his prayer and all who saw him pray would be astounded at the sight of someone clinging with all his being to his creator and completely forsaking all physical matters. Rav Aharon Kotler said that it is worthwhile to come to Eretz Yisrael just in order to watch the prayer of Rav Aharon Cohen. The famous maggid, Rav Shalom Shwadron witnessed that during the thirty-seven years in which he knew and spent time with Rav Aharon, he never heard from him one word that was not connected to Torah and fear of Heaven.
