Letter from Rabbi Yosef Chizkiyahu Mishkovski, Av Beis Din of Krynki to the Chazon Ish.
A handwritten and signed letter from Rabbi Yosef Chizkiyahu Mishkovski of Krynki to the "Gaon Yeshurun"- Rav Avraham Yeshaya Karelitz- known by all as the Chazon Ish.
Personal letter with request to pray for him and his family on Yom Kippur for a complete recovery.
Written during Aseres Yemey Teshuva, 1944.
Rav Yosef Chizkiyahu Mishkovski- of the great Poland Rabbonim in the generation before the holocaust. One of the heads of 'Va'ad HaYeshivos' as well as 'Va'ad Hatzalah', he was a gaon in Torah and an energetic Askan, ready to do all that is necessary to further all Torah matters. Born in 1884, his father was a famous gaon in his generation: Rav Chaim Leib of Stawiski. His father in law was the renowned Mussar gaon: Rav Itzaleh Blazer. He learned in Lomze, Telz, Novardok and Radin and was close to the Chofetz Chaim. In 1924 he became one of the founders of 'Va'ad HaYeshivos' and served as a messenger of the Chofetz Chaim and Rav Ch. O. for various matters. In 1941 he managed to escape to Eretz Yisrael with his family. Passed away on 1947. The 'Yeshivas Knesses Chizkiyahu' in Kfar Chassidim was founded in his honor after his passing.
