Postcard from 5699 [1939] with a request to assist a Talmid Chacham from פראשוב immigrate to the United States.
The Gaon Rav Dovid Shperber, known as the Gaon of Brashiv, one of the great Poskim of Romania in the generation before the Holocaust. Born in 5637. His father was a chassid of Rav Chaim of Kossov- the Toras Chaim. After Rav Dovid learned from the Gaon Rav Meir Arik in the revealed areas of Torah, he became close to the Admor Rav Moshe Hager of Kossov who gave him the job of preparing his sefer "Leket Ani" and his other sefarim for publication. When he made Aliyah to Eretz Yisrael in 5710, he was a member of the "Moetzes Gedoley HaTorah" and one of the founders of the "Chinuch Atzma'iy". Passed away at age of 85 in 5722.
