17th Century. Extremely Rare. The first Sulzbach machzor. Machzor K'Minhag Ashkenazim: Sulzbach, [1699].
Machzor K'Minhag Ashkenazim, section two. With the Hadras Kodesh elucidation. Thick machzor in a nice, impressive print. The first edition of the machzor printed in Sulzbach. These machzorim reflect the western German nusach. It was reprinted many times according to this edition in Sulzbach and other Ashkenaz countries and was the most popular machzor. The Shvus Yaakov wrote, "In the mazchor of the Sulzbach press that all people of Ashkenaz are drawn after it and follow it (Shu"t Shvus Yaakov, section three siman 43).

The large majority of this volume is in fine condition.
A group of about ten leaves have tears and blemishes, and one of these leaves is missing most of the page.
