Halachah L’Moshe by Rabbi Refael Moshe Elbaz. Nice copy, Inscribed by the author’s nephews.

Responsa and novellae on the four sections of the Shulchan Aruch by the great rabbi and wonderworker, Rabbi Refael Moshe Elbaz, av”d Sefrou.
Includes responsa and back and forth discussions with prominent Moroccan sages of his time.

Rabbi Refael Moshe Elbaz (1823-1896) was a prominent Sefrou sage. Orphaned from his father at a young age, he studied by his uncle, R’ Amram and by R’ Amor Abutbul. He was appointed dayan in 1851, when he was 28 years old. He didn’t have children of his own, but he raised orphans and married them off, providing them with everything they needed like a real father. He was a multi-talented person, with a sharp mind who was amazingly knowledgeable in Torah. He set aside two hours a day to writing his works and everyone was amazed at how much he accomplished. He gave a bris milah to thousands of children. He was humble, friendly and beloved by all. He was also a wonderworker, and after his death, people visited his grave to pray.
His talmidim include: R’ Shalom Azulai, R’ Avraham Shitrit, R’ Abba Elbaz (three dayanim of the city).
On the back of the title page, there is a printed inscription with the name of the book recipient added by hand.
