Bonne & Desmarest - Map of Africa
This fine map engraving is from Rigobert Bonne and Nicolas Desmarest's Atlas encyclopédique, contenant la géographie ancienne, et quelques cartes sur la géographie du moyen age, la géographie moderne et les cartes relatives à la géographie physique. The work was published by Hotel de Thou in Paris between 1787 and 1788.
Rigobert Bonne (1727-1794) was a French cartographer. He was one of the most important and influential map makers of the late 18th century. He also served as the Royal Cartographer to France.
The work is in very good to excellent condition overall. There is a vertical crease to the left of the fold. There may be some faint offset or minor imperfections to be expected with age. Please review the image carefully for condition and contact us with any questions.
