Rabbi Joseph Schwarz (1804-1865), born in Bavaria, was a geographer and painter and one of the first explorers of the Land of Israel in modern times. Immigrated to Jerusalem in 1833 and then went on a mission in America. This book presents his research into the geography and history of the Land of Israel, including illustrations and a folding map (53x33 cm).
