Reinhold Niebur (1892-1971) was an American Christian theologian and human rights activist. He published the article, in two parts, during World War II. In it he acknowledges the plight of the Jewish people and offers the Zionist idea as a legitimate solution to the situation of the Jews in Europe. The topics in the article include: "Jewish position unique", "The right to survive", and "Necessity of a homeland".
