A book dedicated to the photography of Nadar - the pen name of the Frenchman Felix Tournachon - who besides being a photographer was also a cartoonist, journalist and pilot of balloons. He is considered one of the most important portrait photographers of the 19th century, and photographed of the major bohemians and cultural figures of his time. There are many portraits in this book - each on a page, among others of Sarah Bernhardt, George Sand, Delacroix, Berlioz, Baudelaire and more.
English, 272 pages, 30X23 cm. Good condition: small folds in the corners of the cover. Softcover.
