Rare and massive talisman / Amulet jewelry for a woman - Yemen, late 19th century, in exceptional condition and unique quality.

Jewish amulet necklace for a woman, probably used in wedding ceremonies or holidays, Large size used on special occasions, on womens the neck. The main silver box for an amulet, known as "lazem", combined with signed silver beads.

The silver is partly in filigree work, the necklace consists of large silver beads decorated with ballet work and a container for a very large and high quality amulet, the entire jewel is made by impressive and special handwork. In the center is a silver case, closed and sealed inside there is probably an amulet / talisman. The main elements makes it against the evil eye according to Yemen JEWS. Very worn silver Hallmarks, probably the artist's name, on some of the silver balls.

The necklace is spectacular and large, probably made in a rural area in Yemen. Very good overall condition, it is rare to find them with all parts intact. Relative to what we have seen so far, this is a larger than average piece of jewelry. Total weight is over 1 pound (520 Grams).

The item is signed on some of the beads but the signatures are very worn.
