Judaica - a rare and magnificent silver Torah shield (Tass) for a Torah book with Jewish amazing motifs.
Spectacular cast silver Torah combined with handwork - technique of the late 19TH century.
A large and impressive silver shield for the Torah scroll in a synagogue, heavy!!!, about 250 grams with lions surrounding a magnificent plaque with the Ten Commandments engraved and cut by hand and parts cast all by hand by a Judaica craftsman, a talented silversmith.
Apparently old/antique German silver which came to us from a European synagogue by a donating family.
It is over 8 Inches tall.
