Silver utensil to pour sugar used by the Rabbi of Lubavitsh and the righteous Rabbanit Rebbetzin Chaya Mushka.
As known in the Chassidic Chaba"d sefarim, sugar, symbolizes the highest form of kindness - 'Chesed ShebaChesed', therefor no other food can last in it without getting spoiled (unlike honey), accordingly it is in the category of nature like water. Therefor this sweetens many different things just like the virtue of Kindness [Torah Ohr. insertion in Parashat Shemot 107.a]
Utensils from the home of the Rabbi of Lubavitch, are rare and given the importance and their segulot protection holy objects especially those serving the Rabbi himself, in his private home which have not been exposed to the public only during the year of the passing of the Rebbetzin, extremely valuable.
The sugar utensil arrived from the family of Mrs Maira Gelfrin, close friend of the righteous Rabbanit Rebbetzin Chaya Mushka. The two where close for decades. Mrs. Gelfrin miraculously lived through the holocaust, and when the war was over she arrived to United States with nothing at all. The Rebbetzin granted here friend her personal dishes of which she used until now, and between them this treasured utensil. Attached is signed authorization from the Rabbi's secretary.

The custom of Chaba"d on Passover: The Rabbi Hrsha"b did not use sugar on Passover. Wonderful stories are told among the Chassidei Chaba"d from their Rabbis on the subject of powdered sugar and about using it during Passover, on the other hand the use of solid sugar on Passover.
