Deep Responsum Regarding a Mikveh, by the Immense Gaon, Sar Hatorah Rabbi Shlomo Eiger
Deep, innovative responsum regarding a Mikveh, by the immense Gaon, Sar Hatorah Rabbi Shlomo Eiger, son of Maran Rabbi Akiva Eiger, with his holy signature.

This responsum was printed with some changes, and without the opening and closing lines, in Responsa Rabbi Shlomo Eiger, Yoreh De’ah §25. It is a continuation of a responsum regarding a Mikveh which incorporated a unique method for dripping the water; in this responsum, the Gaon Rabbi Shlomo Eiger writes the setup and description of the system.

On the responsum, which appears to be written by a scribe, Rabbi Shlomo Eiger adds, corrects, and comments in his own handwriting, and signs with his signature in Latin letters, as he often did.

At the end of the letter he writes the date: “Posen, Thursday, 29th of Nissan, 5604” (Apr. 18, 1844), as well as the name of the recipient, Rabbi Rosenstein. The letter is numbered using Rabbi Shlomo Eiger’s numbering system, in handwriting, as number 35-607, and has additional notations.

[1] unlined paper, written on both sides. Fold marks and extensive staining. Good condition.
Background material is included.
