Sefer Hacahim, by Rabbi Chaim ben Betzalel, friend of the Rema. Sudilkyv(?), ca. 1825. Rare. Wth the approbation of the holy Tzaddik, the ‘Ohev Yisrael’ of Apt.
Sefer Hachaim, by Rabbi Chaim ben Betzalel (of Freidburg), older brother of the Maharal of Prague, and a friend of the Rema. With an approbation by the ‘Ohev Yisrael’ of Apt. Sudilkyv(?) ca. 1825. Rare.
The title page is forged, and copies the details of the 1817 Mezhibuzh edition, which was printed as per the orders of the Apter Rav. The approbation was also copied from the Mezhibuzh edition, in which he wrote that the sayings in this Sefer ‘come from a holy mouth, our master and teacher the great Gaon, Sar Hatorah, shining light… and was said through Ruach HaKodesh’.
After the “Printer’s preface”, there is a note that the Sefer cannot be reprinted until 1835, which indicates that it was printed ca. 1825. The border on the title page is similar to the one on the Sefer “Yeshu’ot Malko”, which was printed in Sudilkyv in 1828.
