Leshon Limudim, on the study of grammar and writing poetry in Lashon Hakodesh, by Rabbi David ben Rabbi Shlomo Ibn-Yehiya. Eliezer ben Gershon Soncino press, , Constantinople, 1542. Third edition, rare.

Year of print is stated in the colophon. Ownership notation in Italian scritp on the title page: “from the Dan families… Rabbi Mordechai… given by… Menachem Hadani”. One handwritten gloss inside.

Rabbi David ben Shlomo Ibn Yechiya (1440-1504) – linguist and Darshan from the sages of Portugal. Officiated as Rabbi in Lisbon. War persecuted by the King of Portugal and escaped to Napoli, after he was slandered for assisting Conversos in returning to their religion. Was exiled to the island of Korfu, and after many tribulations arrived in Turkey. Author of ‘Kav Venaki’ on Sefer Mshlei, ‘LeshonLimudim’, ‘Shekel HaKodesh’, and other works.
