Sefer Lechem Shamayim – Wandsbek, 1733 – first edition – Rav Yaakov Emden’s first Sefer – Noble exemplar from the Tzaddikim of Poland.

The first Sefer the Yaavetz printed.
Personal exemplar of Rabbi Avraham Shmuel Tzvi Hirsch Siberstein, grandson of Maran the holy Tiferes Shlomo of Radomsk. His signature is on the title page, as well as some glosses in his handwriting.
The first Sefer printed by the Yaavetz, and the only one not printed in Altona – where he had later established his press. On the reverse of the title page is an illustration of the Mizbe’ach according to the Raavad’s method.
Rabbi Avraham Shmuel Tzvi Hirsch Silberstein (1885-1951). Born in Radomsk. His mother was the granddaughter of the Radomsker Rebbe, the ‘Tiferes Shlomo’. Wonderous sharp Gaon. Served in the Rabbinate of Bodzentyn and Wierzbnik in Poland. In 1925 he emigrated to Canada, and served as Rabbi of a community in Toronto. Later on he also served as the chairman of the Toronto Rabbinical Council. Ca. 1938 he moved to Eretz Yisrael but two years later returned to Canada. On the title page of his Sefer “Korban Shmuel”, which was printed in 1944, he writes: “I lived for more than two years in the holy city Yerushalayim, may she be speedily rebuilt, and now I live as a stranger here in Toronto, Canada.” From his signatures we see his yearning to return to Yerushalayim. Authored many Seforim: “Karnot HaMizbe’ach” (140 ways to resolve the questions of Tosafot on one Sugya. Biłgoraj, 1927), “Nifla’ot HaTiferes Shlomo” (Chiddushim, stories, and sayings of his grandfather, the Admor Rabbi Shlomo of Radomsk. Biłgoraj, 1923), Responsa “Korban Shmuel”, “Shiva’a Shavu’os”, “Torah VeHalacha” and more.
118, 120-122 pp. 30.5cm. Tear on top of title page, and light tearing on 2 additional pages. Tiny moth damage. New binding. Overall good condition.
