Sighet Community Polemic – Ohev Mishpat, Lemberg 1888

A historic controversy in the holy community of Sighet. Sefer Ohev Mishpat, published under the auspices of the Sephardic community of Sighet, Lemberg, 1888.

Amongst others things, is detailed the entire issue of the seperation of the communities in Sighet, and the expulsion of the holy Kedushas Yom Tov from the Rabbinate there.

The Sefer Ohev Mishpat details the entire polemic surrounding the splitting of the communities in Sighet, and tells of the quarrels in the city of Sighet, which split into two congregations: 'Congregation Sephardic community' and 'Orthodox Congregation'.

Printed at the request of the Sephardic community by Rabbi Feivel Halevi, Av Beis Din of Bradshein.

Letters from the Gedolim who supported this congregation are printed within, including those from the Imrei Baruch of Vizhnitz, the Netziv, and more. In response, the 'Orthodox Community' printed a book of their own, named 'Open Letter – a Holy War'
