Set of Ancient Parashiyot Tefillin - More Than Two Hundred Years Old Sephardic Script
Set Parashiyot of Tefillin shel Rosh and Yad, most ancient, Sephardic script, from the Balkan area, more than two hundred years old.
The Sephardic script and ink and vellum technique teach about the customs of Balkan Jews, where they were written.
It should be noted that few Jews lived in the Balkan until the mid-19th century; however, there were Jews in the Balkan, mainly in Sofia, Bulgaria, for approx. two thousand years.
In Albania and its capital Elbasan, there were Jews from the days of the Romans.
After the Expulsion from Spain, another wave of Jews came to the Balkan countries.
Four separate Parashiyot for Tefillin shel Rosh and one vellum for the four Parashiyot of Tefillin shel Yad. The ink is slightly faded in some places. Blemishes to vellum, not affecting the script.
The Parashot Tefillin are not sold as Kosher, not having been studied thoroughly.
The height of the separate Parashiyot is slightly less than the Parashiyot of Tefillin shel Yad.
