On the title page, a signed dedication: "ס' שמע שלמה הלז שייך לאדוני האלוף הראשי... הגביר כהר"ר מיכל סגל מהנובר המחזיק ביד לומדי תורה ומספיק להם מזון ומחי', יקויי' בו עץ חיים היא למחזיקים בה... בימינה ובשמאלה עושר וכבוד תעטר, הכ"ד המתחנן [?] הקטן אהרן הלברשטאט לע"ע חד מיושבי אהל תורה של ביה"מ הקצין הנגיד הנ"ל".
