Chessed LeAvraham by Rabbeinu Avraham Azulai. One of the first books that were printed by Rabbi Moshe Shapiro in Slavuta. [1794].


Chessed LeAvraham, the Kabbalistic book by Rabbeinu Avraham Azulai, with Birkat Avraham and an elucidation on Ma'amarei Chazal based on Rabbi Chaim Vital's Kabbalah. Slavuta, 1794. 

One of the first books that were printed by Rabbi Moshe Shapiro in Slavuta. His name does not appear on the title page but on the preceding page, in the approbation by his in-law the holy Rav Rabbi Shimshon of Shpitovka Av Beis Din of Slavuta who refers to the holy Rav Rabbi Pinchas of Koretz: מחותני הרבני המופלג בנן של קדושים בוצינא קדישא רבי פנחס' It is known that in those years, the license for the printery had not yet been obtained. 


Thick, quality paper. Wide sheets. Important Kabbalistic sketches. owner's signatures, Eliyahu Lemberger [?] on the flyleaf and last leaf. 

[6], 87, 1-34, [1] leaves. 21 cm. Scattered moth perforations. 

Leaves 2-3 are bound out of order. A small tear to the upper part of leaves 7-8. affecting the headings. Additional tears due to wear not affecting the text. Old, non-original binding. Fair-good condition.
