With an approbation by the holy Rav of Chernobyl, who refers to the printer, Rabbi Aryeh Leib Shapiro, as his in-law. Many owner's notations and signatures, including signatures of Aharon Feibel ben Rabbi D. Goldenberg, Rabbi Zvi Yehuda Shuv, Nissen Fainberg and more.

The Gaon Rabbi Ephraim Zalman ben Rabbi Menachem Margolis of Brod (1761-1828), Rav one of the sages of the Kloiz of Brody and the author of a large body of religious literature, one of the most important Poskim of his generation alongside the Chasam Sofer and Rabbi Akiva Eiger. Served at first as Rav of Ohanov and later, after becoming wealthy, left his rabbinic position and dedicated himself to the study of the Torah in the Kloiz of Brody. Corresponded on halachic matters and authored many renowned Seforim, including the Beis Ephraim, the Sha'ar Ephraim, Mateh Ephraim, Tiv Gittin, and more. In his Sefer LeMa'alos HaYochassin, he studied the genealogy of the Margolis family up to Rashi and then to King David.
