Imrei Emes by the Maharam Lonzano. Extremely Rare Kabbalistic Autograph. Impressive Script. Sadigura, 1866
Kuntres Imrei Emes, Hasagos on the Ari and his disciples, rare Kabbalistic manuscript, most impressive. Sadigura, 1866. Authored by the holy Kabbalist Rav Rabbi Menachem di Lonzano, the Ramdal. The manuscript was part of the library of the holy Rav Rabbi Nachum Bernyu.
'Sefer Imrei Emes by the holy Kabbalist Rav Rabbi Menachem ben Yehuda di Lonzano ... Hasagos on some Ma'marim of the Ari and his disciples'.
The manuscript was copied in Sadigura in 1866 and was bound as a book of the library of the holy Rav Rabbi Nachum Berenyu of Sadigura, the son of the holy Rav Rabbi Sholom Yosef and son-in-law of the holy Rav Rabbi Avraham Yaakov, who owned an impressive library.
Appearing on its binding is a sticker with the serial number of the book as it appeared in Rabbi Nachum Berenyu's special library.
The book is extremely rare since the Ramdal wrote sharp Hasagos on the Ari and his disciples and therefore, people avoided copying or owning it.
Today, only two later copyings are known, one in Russian-Ashkenazic script and the other in Sephardic script.
Most of Rabbi Menachem di Lonzano's books were not printed due to their sharpness, thus the importance of this manuscript.
The Kuntres contains three sections and a lengthy, important introduction noting that all his Hasagos on the Ari were done by Divine inspiration.
Please refer to Hebrew catalog text for a brief biography of the Kabbalist Rabbi Menachem di Lonzano.
[1], 23 leaves. 21 lines per page. Fine Rashi script handwritten by a scribe on healthy, strong leaves.
The title page of the Kuntres is ornated with a border. A stain on the title page. Small water stains, not affecting the text. Some glosses in the same script on the manuscript. Beautiful manuscript. Original binding, like the other bindings of the books of Rabbi Nachum Berenyu's library, yet without his stamp on the autograph. New flyleaf. Very good condition.
Enclosed is confirmation by Mr. Yosef Avivi.
