Letter by Rabbi Nachum Twersky to the managers of Ezras Torah, with a request to assist his in-law Rabbi Yosef Zvi Kalisch Av Beis Din of Bnei Berak. Bnei Berak, [1938].
"His situation is most terrible, really indescribable. You surely know about the economic situation in the Holy Land and especially the situation of the rabbis in the small settlements, which is bad"; an appeal by Rabbi Nachum Twersky to the managers of Ezras Torah to comply with the request of his in-for assistance in a time of stress. In his letter, he refers to the mayor of the town Rabbi Yitzchak Gerstenkorn, who was then in New York and could attest to Rabbi Kalisch' economic situation.

The holy Rav Rabbi Yosef Zvi ben Rabbi Shimon Kalisch (1887-1957) the son-in-law of the holy Rav Rabbi Yitzchak Yaakov of Biala. In 1927 started serving as Admor and Rav in Kortashov, Poland. Since 1935 served as the Rav of Bnei Berak and after the Holocaust became the Admor of the Chassidim of Skarnovich and Vorka. His son-in-law was Rabbi Nachum Twersky the son of Rabbi Yehuda Leib of Hornisteipol.
