The signature of Maran the Chasam Sofer and an addition of a gloss - several lines handwritten by himת and an additional signature of his son Maran the Ketav Sofer, on the flyleaf of a Sefer.

The signature is in faint ink: 'משה"ק סופר מפפד"מ'. Close to it, in even fainter ink, a gloss handwritten by him: [?] ובתשובות חו"י [-חוות יאיר] סימן... [?] ...ראיתי , the script becoming fainter and fainter. Four short line handwritten by him.

Above all these, the signature of his son and successor, Maran the Ketav Sofer: Avraham Shmuel Binyomin.

About the virtue and Segulah of Maran the Chasam Sofer's manuscripts: known are the words of his leading disicples and his succeeding sons who kept manuscripts by the Chasam Sofer as a Segulah for protection and good health.

His son, the Rav of Krakow and author of the Michtav Sofer, stated that the Maharam Bennett used to look long at the handwriting, saying that it is a Segulah for Yiras Shamayim.

The holy Rav the Eshel Avraham of Buchach used to kiss the handwriting of Maran the Chasam Sofer.

By tradition, the holy handwriting of the Chasam Sofer is a Segulah for preventing fire and its damage.

Flyleaf 12X13 cm. Stains. Faint ink. The leaf is in very good condition.
