וכיפר על הקודש - the pipe 'Lolkeh' of Or Olam Ateres Tiferes Yisroel Rabbeinu Yisroel of Ruzhin.
Lolkeh Tzibech - the holy pipe of the holy Rav Rabbi Yisroel of Ruzhin, with which he worked miracles for the many and for individuals and which he gave as a gift to his close cousin the Tzaddik Rav Rabbi Avraham Shlomo the son of the holy Rav Rabbi Yisroel Chaim of Ludmir from whom it was passed on generation following generation.
The Avodah of Tzaddikim while smoking the pipe is incomprehensible. Yet, it is known among the Chassidim and passed on admiringly that this Avodas Kodesh contains many Kavanos and Remazim, always being covered by smoke; one handbreadth revealed covering thousands of hidden ones.
Among the dynasty starting with the Maggid of Mezeritch, his son Maran the holy Rav Rabbi Avraham Hamalach and his son Maran the holy Rav Rabbi Sholom Shachneh of Prohabitch 'Der Groise Rabbi Sholom' the father of Maran the holy Rav Rabbi Yisroel of Ruzhin and the brother of the holy Rav Rabbi Yisroel Chaim of Ludmir, several facts are known that reveal some of the secrets hidden in the Avodah of smoking the pipe.
An awe-inspiring story was repeatedly told by the holy Rav Rabbi Chaim Meir of Vizhnitz author of the Imrei Chaim, he too from the Ruzhin dynasty: The holy Rav of Ruzhin used to smoke a lot. Once, his son the holy Rav of Chertkov [or his son the holy Rav of Sadigura] came to him and asked him: "Tateh, why do you smoke so much, knowing that it is unhealthy? The Saba Kaddisha of Ruzhin answered: "ווען דו זאלסט וויסין וואס איך טו אויף מיט איין ציה אין לילקע, וואלסטי געהאלטין א גאנצע צייט אין-איין גיסען טאבאק!!" ["Had you known what I do with one inhalation of the pipe, you would be standing beside me filling it with tobacco constantly"]
Thus, it is told in additional Chassidic courts about the virtue and merit of a pipe being smoked by Tzaddikim. Rabbi Nachmileh of Bichov, the son of the holy Rav The Yehudi of Pershischa, inherited a Lolkeh Tzibech from his father . Once, the Lolkeh was stolen and he greatly regretted the loss saying: Had you known how many miracles I work with it. When I smoked this Lolkeh I worked for the benefit of Yisroel to bring down an abundance of holiness. The Lolkeh must be returned. And indeed, miraculously, the gentile thief that stole it was forced to return it due to the damage it caused him every time he tried to smoke it.
By the tradition of family members, the Tzaddikim of Ruzhin in Eretz Yisroel were familiar with the pipe and the tradition around it and used to come to watch it.
The passing of the 'Lolkeh Kaddisha':
1. The holy Rav Rabbi Sholom Meir Friedman of Safed [1817-1900] received it from the holy hands of Tiferes Yisroel the holy Rav of Ruzhin [Rabbi Sholom Meir was the son of the holy Rav Rabbi Avraham Shlomo the son of the holy Rav Rabbi Yisroel Chaim of Ludmir the son of the holy Rav Rabbi Avraham HaMalach and th euncle of the holy Rav of Ruzhin]. Rabbi Sholom Meir immigrated to Safed and was one of its important Chassidic rabbis, renowned as a miracle worker.
2. The pipe was passed on to his son of the Chassid Gaon the Tzaddik Avraham Shlomo Friedman-Goldenboim [1843-1917], one of the greatest Dayanim of Safed and one of the most important Chassidim of Sadigura in the Holy Land. Signed many broadsides as Dayan and one of the important rabbis of Safed.
3. From him, the pipe passed on to his son the Tzaddik Rav Rabbi Chaim Aharon Goldenboim who was born in Safed and was one of its important Chassidim and who also lived in Jerusalem.
4. His grandson, Rabbi Yosef Goldenboim-Zehavi [1899-1999, approx. a hundred years old] author of Sifrei 'Tzentra DeDehava' 'Midrashei Zion VeYerushalayim' a Chassid that merited being a disciple of the holy Rav Rabbi David'l Biderman of Lelov.
Length: 14 cm. Made of quality wood, impressively carved. The pipe is lacking the part on which the tobacco leaves were placed (originally). Good condition.
